While Meghan and I love the hunt of finding a fabulous romance book to read for our next podcast episode, we also appreciate the convenience that romance novel subscription box services offer. So we’ve put together a selection of romance book boxes for those of you who like that convenience too.

7 Book Subscription Boxes for a Romantic Read

1. Reveal Book Box

Reveal Book Box claims to be the #1 subscription box for romance readers. They currently have four different options to choose from. You can select a single book per month (no swag or goodies, just a signed copy of the book) for $13.95 (plus tax). Or, you can go for their Bigger Box for $79.95 (plus tax)which gets you 6 books and a bunch of fun extras with each monthly delivery. You tell them your favorite tropes during the sign up process which helps them select your next romance read(s). You’ll receive surprise books from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling authors and be introduced to amazing new writers.

2. Romance ChickLit from Chocolate and book

The term ChickLit makes us a giggle but we’re all for this subscription box from Chocolate and book. Indulge your literary cravings with their curated monthly box of a bestselling Romance/ChickLit novel, delectable chocolate, and a cozy beverage — the perfect escape for book lovers! A romance novel, chocolate AND a beverage? No need to twist our arms. For this monthly subscription, you can choose from paperback or hardcover books. The monthly subscription price ranges from $21.60 for paperback and $31.75 for hardcover. Click here to subscribe.

3. OwlCrate Romance Quarterly Subscription

It’s not unusual for the in-demand romance subscription companies to have a waitlist. And that’s exactly the case with OwlCrate’s Romance Quarterly Subscription. (They also have a Romantasy subscription option.) It’s the perfect choice for readers of romance and romantic fantasy books looking for highly curated stories that explore romance as the main plot, with some open-door spicy scenes. Every 3 months, you will receive an OwlCrate exclusive edition of a signed, newly released hardcover romance book with exclusive design elements. (Think redesigned covers, stenciled edges and foil designs.)

4. Belle Book Box

Treat yourself — or someone special — to the sweetest box of books and custom bookish goodies! The Belle Book Box is a bi-monthly subscription service featuring romance, coming-of-age, or contemporary women fiction novels. This one comes with two exclusive limited edition autographed books. Their subscription options range from two months to a year (with four and 6 month options in between). And the pricing ranges from $54.99 to $314.99.

Is romantasy or dark romance your thing? You can check out their sister site, Mystic Box. (Note: at the time of this update, there was a waitlist for Mystic Box.)

5. Romance Book and Chill

We might be late to the party … but we’ve recently fallen head over heels for Blind Dates with a book. So we were excited to see Romance Book and Chill now offers Blind Date with a Trope. The bundle turns your favorite romance trope into a full-on experience and there’s over a DOZEN to choose from. You pick the trope that makes your heart race and they’ll send you a surprise signed novel with fun goodies (like bookmarks, stickers and candles) to match. It’s part mystery, part date night, all swoon. And it’s reasonably priced at $26.99 per bundled trope (shipping and tax not included).

6. Blind Date with a Book by The Ripped Bodice

First of all, we LOVE The Ripped Bodice Bookstore. Run by two sisters who are bookish biddies just like us, they have a wide array of romance novel offerings and are wonderfully inclusive & diverse. They have two brick & mortar stores in the United States but also sell books online and one of the services they offer is their bestselling Blind Date with a Book.

Each carefully wrapped book is chosen by their expert staff and comes with a few intriguing clues but the title remains a mystery until you unwrap it. Perfect for adventurous readers or as a unique gift, this is your chance to discover a story you might not have picked up on your own — because sometimes, the best books are the ones you never see coming. While not a true subscription service, it is a great option if you just need a one and done romance novel fix. Pricing start between $8.99 and $17.99.

7. Month to Month from Sizzling Reads

Sizzling Reads curates a monthly subscription box delivered directly to your doorstep. Each box is a carefully crafted collection of not just one but two hand-picked romance novels – one that’s deliciously spicy and another with just the right amount of sizzle. Think of it as your monthly delivery of heartthrobs and hotness.

As bookish biddies who rate our romantic reads with a Spicy Scoville Scale, we love this spicy subscription option. (And they have their own spice levels of 1 to 5 peppers.) Every box also comes with an array of goodies that perfectly complement the themes of the book selections. Pricing ranges from $40-$47 per month depending on the membership option you choose (one month, 6 months or 12).

There are certainly many more romance book subscription services out there. Do you have a favorite? We’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment in the comment section or contact us via our contact page.

Red flags? Also yes. 🚩🍸
This week on Romance on the Rocks, we dig into Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and Ruckus by L.J. Shen to ask the uncomfortable questions:
✨ When does “care” become control?
✨ Is a contract really consent?
✨ And why do billionaire romances keep confusing kink with trauma?
We’re pro-spice, pro-consent and aggressively anti “mine” flower stunts.
Hit play, sip something strong and tell us your biggest romance red flag.
