Here at Romance on the Rocks Podcast, we are two bookish biddies who imbibe and share their love of romance novels. While we certainly consider ourselves lovers and connoisseurs of adult beverages, we also understand there are many times when we and our fellow biddies want to avoid alcohol. Whether you want a re-set with Dry January or you’re feeling ill or taking certain medications or have certain dietary or lifestyle restrictions, we believe you should still have options to help you feel like you’re fancy and can drink something delicious.
Certainly, mocktails and zero proof beverages need not be limited to Dry January and even on the podcast there are times when we switch to a plain old coffee (Meghan did so for our Season 2 Episode 2 podcast) or even some kombucha (as I did for Season 2 Episode 1 — the holidays were not kind to my gut biome, friends). Here we’ve collected some options for you ranging from subscription boxes to a one-and-done purchase.
4 Zero Proof & Mocktail Options for Dry January
Please Note: Prices mentioned are at the time of publishing this article and may not include shipping, taxes or other fees.

1. Monthly Mocktail Box by We Are Raising the Bar
$60-$70/month/box (depending on the subscription options you choose)
Raising the Bar has been making big waves with their mocktail boxes. So if you do prefer to drink sans alcohol but don’t want to sacrifice the flavor, their Monthly Mocktail Box is just the ticket. They are definitely on the pricier end for a cocktail subscription box but their kits and ingredients are high-end and there’s a reason they are redefining happy hour with their offerings. They regularly come up with fabulous themes and you can buy a one-and-done themed box or subscribe to their monthly service. Each Raising the Bar box includes zero-proof cocktail ingredients to craft three unique cocktail recipes and up to 12 servings (or, in Wisconsin, 4). There’s 4-8 products in every box along with detailed instructions to help you hone your mixology game plus bar tools, seasonal garnishes, and/or accessories to elevate your cocktail experience. 2. Premium Alcohol Cocktail Kit Subscription by Cocktail-Courier
$40.25-$46/month/box (depending on the subscription options you choose)
While their main focus is a kit that includes alcohol, Cocktail-Courier does offer a non-alcohol version as well and you can order for one month or twelve with options in between. They also have lots of customization options to help you mix up stunning, high-end drinks. They deliver cocktail experiences that include everything you need to shake or stir professional quality cocktails right at home. As busy ladies, we love that we don’t have to go hunting for recipes or ingredients. Each kit makes 6-8 cocktails (or, in Wisconsin, 2-4 – we’re just being real, people) with high quality spirits, fresh citrus and seasonal ingredients. Choose your cocktail subscription box here.
3. Bridgerton x Williams Sonoma Cocktail Crate

$119.95
Did someone say Bridgerton? Then say no more. If you’re a fan, the delightful Bridgerton x Williams Sonoma Cocktail Crate may speak to you. To inspire stylish sipping, their curated collection features two delicious cocktail mixers, two elegant coupe glasses and a lovely book, The Official Bridgerton Guide to Entertaining. Cocktails AND reading material? Considered us sold. The mixers are Bridgerton Blood Orange Blossom Fizz and Elderflower Flavored Lemonade. Mix them 1:1 with sparkling soda water for an effervescent, alcohol-free cocktail. A single purchase box, you can order it from Williams Sonoma here.
4. Seedlip

$31.99/single bottle, bundles starting at $96, $192/case
I once tried to completely give up alcohol. It didn’t take. But while I was on that journey, I gave Seedlip a very solid try. I ordered one of their bundles and REALLY enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktails I could create with them. They have four main offerings: Spice 94, Notas de Agave, Garden 108, and Grove 42. Garden 108 is a great substitute for gin. The flavors are lovely and complex without veering towards pine needles as some gins do. Spice 94 is akin to a spiced rum for me. Grove 42 I used as a replacement for citrus vodka. And Notas de Agave is their newest addition that I assume has a flavor profile similar to tequila. Seedlip currently has a lovely set available — The Seedlip Recipe Bundle — that comes with one full-size bottle each of Seedlip Garden 108, Spice 94, Grove 42 AND their Seedlip Cocktail Book.
If you’re going to give them a try, I do think it’s handy to have their cocktail recipes at the ready as they do have some really great ideas for creating drinks that are not lacking flavor which can sometimes be the case when going alcohol-free. An additional perk if you also have health and weightloss goals? Their spirits are zero calories and sugar free. To learn more or order Seedlip, click here.
There are certainly many more zero proof and alcohol-free options available and we’ve even seen some bars pop up in some of our stomping grounds recently that are completely devoted to the zero proof experience.
